Roja is a film about a young couple whose lives are upended when the husband is kidnapped by terrorists in Kashmir, and the wife must navigate a world of politics and danger to rescue him. Roja is a 1992 Indian Telugu-language Drama Romance film starring Arvind Swami, Madhoo, Pankaj Kapur, Nasser, Shiva Rindani, Janagaraj and Vaishnavi Aravind. Kavithalayaa Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mani Ratnam and K. Balachander. The film is written and directed by Mani Ratnam. GV Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. Roja was released on 15th August 1992 and takes a screen time of 137 minutes. Cinematography was done by Santosh Sivan and editing by Suresh Urs. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman. At the 1993 South Filmfare Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Film and Best Music Director. At the 1993 National Film Awards It also won 3 awards including: Best Music Director, Best Lyricist and Best Feature Film on National Integration.
