During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, Indian Air Force Wing Commander Andy Bajwa and Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri lead their squadron and company of soldiers to defend the Longewala military post against infiltrators and later repel the Pakistani forces, resulting in victory but with the sacrifice of their comrades. Border is a 1997 Indian Hindi-language Action Drama film featuring Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Pooja Bhatt, Puneet Issar and Ramana Wadhavan. Border was Produced by Bharat S Shah, J. P. Dutta and Bhanwar Singh. The movie is directed by J. P. Dutta. J. P. Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Border was released on 13th June 1997 and takes a screen time of 170 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Border was made on a budget of ₹10 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹39 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by J. P. Dutta. Cinematography was done by Ishwar R. Bidri and Nirmal Jani and editing by Deepak Wirkud and Vilas Ranade. The music was composed by National Award winner Anu Malik along with : and Aadesh Shrivastava. At the 1998 National Film Awards It won 3 awards including: Best Feature Film on National Integration, Best Lyrics and Best Playback Singer (Male).
