Four immigrants are falsely accused by the police for the crime they did not commit are tortured in the police station. The challenges faced by them after they are saved by the cop of their hometown is brought out in the film. It stars Dinesh Ravi in the lead role along with Samuthirakani, Anandhi, Murugadass, Kishore Kumar Gin supporting roles. The film is an adaptation of the novel Lock Up written by M. Chandrakumar. It is a 2018 Tamil crime thriller written by M Chandra Kumar, Vetrimaaran and directed by Vetrimaaran. The film was produced by Dhanush and distributed by Lyca Productions. Wunderbar Films and Grass Root Film Company took care of the production work. S. Ramalingam handled the cinematography and Kishore Te and G.B. Venkatesh served as the editors. G.V. Prakash Kumar composed the music. It has a running time of 118 minutes and was released on 5 February 2016 and received good reviews from critics when it was released. At the 2016 National Film Awards, it has won an award for Best Feature Film in Tamil and also Best Supporting Actor (Samuthirakani) and Best Editing. This was the first Tamil film to be screened at the Venice International Film Festival. The movie was made on a budget of INR 1.5 crores and collected INR 13 crores at the box office. The film received a ‘UA’ certificate from the Censor Board.
