Eros International acquired the distribution rights for the film. dil-se was released on 21st August 1998 and takes a screen time of 167 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. dil-se was made on a budget of ₹11 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹28 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Mani Ratnam.
