Shool

The movie Satya depicts the story of an idealistic inspector who uncovers the political corruption in rural Bihar and ultimately sacrifices his family to fight against the corrupt system. Shool is a 1999 Indian Hindi-language Action Crime motion picture featuring Manoj Bajpayee, Sayaji Shinde, Raveena Tandon, Yashpal Sharma, Nagesh Bhonsle, Pratima Kazmi and Jitendra Trehan. Varma Corporation was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ram Gopal Varma and Nitin Manmohan. Shool is written by Anurag Kashyap, Eeshwar Nivas and Ram Gopal Varma and it is directed by Eeshwar Nivas. Dream Merchants Enterprise acquired the distribution rights for the film. Shool was released on 5th November 1999 and takes a screen time of 135 min. Shool was made on a budget of ₹5 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹5 crore. Cinematography was done by Hari Nair and editing by Bhanodaya. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Ehsaan Noorani along with Loy Mendonsa, Shankar Mahadevan, Sandeep Chowta and Shankar Ehsaan Loy. At the 2000 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
