In 1971, Indian intelligence officers devise a plan to hijack an Indian plane and land it in Pakistan to counter impending attacks, but complications emerge when they end up in a Lahore hotel, forcing them to figure out how to continue the mission with limited time and resources. IB71 is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language Action Thriller movie featuring Vidyut Jammwal, Vishal Jethwa, Faizan Khan, Anupam Kher, Ashwath Bhatt, Danny Sura and Narinder Bhutani. The movie is inspired from 1971 Indian Airlines hijackings. IB71 was Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vidyut Jammwal and Abbas Sayyed. The film is written and directed by Sankalp Reddy. Reliance Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the film. IB71 was released on 12th May 2023 and takes a screen time of 117 minutes. The movie made a box office gross of ₹29 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sankalp Reddy, Arjun Varma, E. Vasudeva Reddy, Arun Bhimavarapu, Gargee Singh and Abhimanyu Srivastava. Cinematography was done by Gnana Shekar V. S. and editing by Sandeep Francis. The music was composed by Filmfare Award winner Amit Trivedi along with Prashanth R Vihari and Vikram Montrose.
