A police officer in Mumbai receives a threatening call from a gangster, and is motivated to protect the city as he uncovers the truth behind the impending catastrophe while navigating a corrupt law enforcement system and moral dilemmas. The series is inspired from Sacred Games by Vikram Chandra. Phantom Films was the production house involved in the project. Sacred Games is written by Varun Grover, Vasant Nath, Smita Singh, Prakhar Sharma, Dhruv Narang, Nihit Bhave and Pooja Tolani and it is directed by Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Neeraj Ghaywan. Netflix acquired the distribution rights for the television show. Creator of the series is Vikramaditya Motwane.
