Based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in action during the November 2008 Mumbai attacks and was consequently awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India's highest peacetime gallantry award, on 26 January 2009. Major is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language Action Biography motion picture featuring Soham Chakroborty, Hiran Chatterjee, Rudranil Ghosh, Saswata Chatterjee and Adivi Sesh. Greentouch Entertainment in association with Aditya Productions & Entertainment P Ltd. were the production houses involved in the project. Major is written by Ankit Aditya and Sarthak Juneja and it is directed by Ankit Aditya. SSR Cinemas Pvt Ltd acquired the distribution rights for the film. Major was released on 1st December 2020 and takes a screen time of 127 minutes. The screenplay for the movie was written by Padmanabha Dasgupta. Cinematography was done by Gopi Bhagat and editing by Md. Kalam. The music was composed by Amlan Chakraborty.
