A shy high school student who can talk to cats saves a cat, but gets trapped in the Cat Kingdom, only to escape with the help of new friends and discover her true self. The Cat Returns is a 2002 Japanese Japanese-language Animation Adventure motion picture featuring Chizuru Ikewaki, Yoshihiko Hakamada, Tetsu Watanabe, Yosuke Saito, Aki Maeda, Tetsur Tamba and Hikari Yono. The movie is inspired from The Cat Returns by Aoi Hiiragi. Studio Ghibli was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Toshio Suzuki and Nozomu Takahashi. The movie is directed by Hiroyuki Morita. Toho acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Cat Returns was released on 20th July 2002 and takes a screen time of 75 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. The Cat Returns was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $65 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Reiko Yoshida. Cinematography was done by Kentaro Takahashi and editing by Megumi Uchida. The music was composed by Yuji Nomi.
