A group of tanuki in Japans forest are threatened by a suburban development project, causing them to unite and use their illusion skills to sabotage the construction, but their efforts are undermined and their unity crumbles, leading to different strategies and ultimately the tanuki blending into human society or struggling to survive in small parks, until one former tanuki rejoins the group and the story ends with a plea for humans to be considerate of animals and their habitats. Pom Poko is a 1994 Japanese Japanese-language Animation Comedy motion picture starring Kokontei Shinchou, Makoto Nonomura, Yuriko Ishida, Shinchô Kokontei, Norihei Miki, Nijiko Kiyokawa and Yumi Kuroda. Studio Ghibli was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Toshio Suzuki. The motion picture is written and directed by Isao Takahata. Toho acquired the distribution rights for the film. Pom Poko was released on 16th July 1994 and takes a screen time of 119 minutes. The film made a box office gross of ₹447 crore. Cinematography was done by Atsushi Okui and editing by Takeshi Seyama. The music was composed by Shang Shang Typhoon.
