A farm boy named Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, are hunted by a dark sorcerer and aided by a mentor, eventually triumphantly defeating the sorcerer but knowing there will be future challenges ahead. Eragon is a 2006 English-language Action Adventure motion picture featuring Ed Speleers, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Guillory, Robert Carlyle, Djimon Hounsou, Garrett Hedlund and Raicho Vasilev. The movie is based on Eragon by Christopher Paolini. Davis Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) John Davis and Wyck Godfrey. Eragon is written by Peter Buchman and Christopher Paolini and it is directed by Stefen Fangmeier. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Eragon was released on 13th December 2006 and takes a screen time of 103 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Eragon was made on a budget of $100 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $250 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Peter Buchman. Cinematography was done by Hugh Johnson and editing by Roger Barton, Masahiro Hirakubo and Chris Lebenzon. The music was composed by Patrick Doyle.
