A young man goes on an adventure to find treasure with a crew, but discovers that one of them plans to mutiny. Treasure Planet is a 2002 American English-language Animation Adventure motion picture starring Joseph Gordon-levitt, Brian Murray, Emma Thompson, David Hyde Pierce, Martin Short, Michael Wincott and Kath Soucie. The movie is inspired from Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Walt Disney Pictures in association with Walt Disney Feature Animation. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Roy Conli, John Musker and Ron Clements. Treasure Planet is written by Robert Louis Stevenson, Ron Clements, John Musker, Rob Edwards, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio and it is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. Buena Vista Pictures Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Treasure Planet was released on 21st November 2002 and takes a screen time of 95 minutes. Treasure Planet was made on a budget of $140 million and at the box office it grossed only $110 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Ron Clements, John Musker and Rob Edwards. Editing was done by Michael Kelly. The music was composed by James Newton Howard.
