A lion named Zuba tries to teach his son Alakay how to fight, but when Alakay ends up in New York City and grows up at the Central Park Zoo, he, along with his friends, attempt to return to New York but crash in Africa, where they meet others of their species and have various adventures, ultimately reconciling and deciding to stay on the reserve.
