A tale of nineteenth-century New York high society in which a young lawyer falls in love with a woman separated from her husband, while he is engaged to the woman s cousin. The Age of Innocence is a 1993 American English-language Drama Romance movie starring Daniel Day-lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Linda Faye Farkas, Michael Rees Davis, Terry Cook and John Maczko. The movie is inspired from The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton. The Age of Innocence was Produced by Barbara De Fina. The Age of Innocence is written by Edith Wharton, Jay Cocks and Martin Scorsese and it is directed by Martin Scorsese. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Age of Innocence was released on 10th September 1993 and takes a screen time of 139 minutes. The Age of Innocence was made on a budget of $34 million and at the box office it grossed only $32 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Jay Cocks and Martin Scorsese. Cinematography was done by Michael Ballhaus and editing by Thelma Schoonmaker. The music was composed by Elmer Bernstein. At the 1994 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Costume Design.
