Biography
A young man becomes fascinated by the criminal world and joins the Mafia, eventually getting involved in more serious crimes, dating a Jewish woman named Karen, witnessing and participating in violent acts, getting arrested and sentenced to prison, and eventually becoming an informant to the authorities before entering the witness protection program. Goodfellas is a 1990 American English-language Crime Drama motion picture featuring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Paul Sorvino, Frank Sivero and Frank Ferruccio. The movie is based on Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi. Goodfellas was Produced by Irwin Winkler. Goodfellas is written by Nicholas Pileggi and Martin Scorsese and it is directed by Martin Scorsese. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the film. Goodfellas was released on 12th September 1990 and takes a screen time of 146 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Goodfellas was made on a budget of $25 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $47 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Nicholas Pileggi and Martin Scorsese. Cinematography was done by Michael Ballhaus and editing by Thelma Schoonmaker At the 1991 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Joe Pesci).
