In 19th century France, a former prisoner named Jean Valjean finds redemption and turns his life around, helping those in need, but ultimately sacrifices himself for the sake of his adopted daughter and her lover during a revolution. Les Misérables is a 2012 English-language Drama Musical motion picture featuring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Helena Bonham Carter and Samantha Kelly. The movie is inspired from Les Mis rables by Alain Boublil Claude-Michel Sch nberg Les Mis rables by Victor Hugo. Working Title Films in association with Relativity Media. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Eric Fellner, Tim Bevan, Debra Hayward and Cameron Mackintosh. Les Misérables is written by William Nicholson, Alain Boublil, Claude-michel Schönberg, Herbert Kretzmer and Victor Hugo and it is directed by Tom Hooper. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Les Misérables was released on 25th December 2012 and takes a screen time of 158 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Les Misérables was made on a budget of $61 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $442 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by William Nicholson, Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Sch nberg and Herbert Kretzmer. Cinematography was done by Danny Cohen and editing by Melanie Oliver and Chris Dickens. The music was composed by Claude-michel Schönberg along with Claude-michel Sch Nberg. At the 2013 Oscar Awards It won 3 awards including: Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role (Anne Hathaway), Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling and Best Achievement in Sound Mixing.
