President Lincoln seeks to pass the Thirteenth Amendment to abolish slavery and uses various tactics to get lawmakers to support it, leading to the end of the Civil War and ultimately his assassination. Lincoln is a 2013 American English-language Biography Drama motion picture featuring Daniel Day-lewis, Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-levitt, James Spader, Hal Holbrook and Johnny Jones. The movie is based on Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin. DreamWorks Pictures in association with 20th Century Fox, Reliance Entertainment, Participant Media, Amblin Entertainment and The Kennedy/Marshall Company. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg. Lincoln is written by Tony Kushner and Doris Kearns Goodwin and it is directed by Steven Spielberg. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Lincoln was released on 21st February 2013 and takes a screen time of 150 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Lincoln was made on a budget of $65 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $275 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Tony Kushner. Cinematography was done by Janusz Kami ski and editing by Michael Kahn. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner John Williams. At the 2013 Oscar Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role (Daniel Day-Lewis) and Best Achievement in Production Design.
