During the Civil War, a man named Inman enlists in the Confederate Army and falls in love with Ada, promising to return to her after the war, but their journey to find each other becomes challenging as they encounter different characters and face personal hardships. Cold Mountain is a 2003 English-language Adventure Drama film featuring Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Ren E Zellweger, Eileen Atkins, Brendan Gleeson, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Arnold Montey. The movie is inspired from Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier. Mirage Enterprises in association with Bona Fide Productions, Castel Film Romania and Cattleya. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Sydney Pollack, William Horberg, Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa. Cold Mountain is written by Charles Frazier and Anthony Minghella and it is directed by Anthony Minghella. Miramax Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Cold Mountain was released on 25th December 2003 and takes a screen time of 154 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Cold Mountain was made on a budget of $79 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $173 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Anthony Minghella. Cinematography was done by John Seale and editing by Walter Murch. The music was composed by Gabriel Yared. At the 2004 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Renee Zellweger).
