At his fathers wedding, Will discovers that his fathers life stories are likely exaggerated, but as his father faces a cancer diagnosis, he continues telling these tales including encounters with a witch and a misunderstood giant named Karl, eventually befriending locals in a secret town called Spectre before joining a circus, marrying a woman named Sandra, being drafted into the army, and eventually becoming a successful salesman, with Will later discovering the truth in some of his fathers stories and passing them on to his own son at his fathers funeral. The movie is based on Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions by Daniel Wallace. Columbia Pictures in association with Jinks/Cohen Company and The Zanuck Company. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bruce Cohen, Dan Jinks and Richard D. Zanuck. Big Fish is written by Daniel Wallace and John August and it is directed by Tim Burton. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the film. Big Fish was released on 26th February 2004 and takes a screen time of 125 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Big Fish was made on a budget of $70 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $123 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John August.
