True story of the undersized Depression-era racehorse whose victories lifted not only the spirits of the team behind it but also those of their nation. Seabiscuit is a 2003 American English-language Drama History movie starring Tobey Maguire, Jeff Bridges, Chris Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, Gary Stevens, William H. Macy and Loyd Catlett. The movie is inspired from Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand. Spyglass Entertainment in association with The Kennedy/Marshall Company and Touchstone Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, Gary Ross and Jane Sindell. Seabiscuit is written by Laura Hillenbrand and Gary Ross and it is directed by Gary Ross. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The film has a running time of 141 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Seabiscuit was made on a budget of $87 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $148 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Gary Ross. Cinematography was done by John Schwartzman and editing by William Goldenberg. The music was composed by Randy Newman.
