A gang of con-men rob prominent rich businessmen and politicians by posing as C.B.I and income tax officers. Special 26 is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language Crime Drama movie featuring Akshay Kumar, Kajal Aggarwal, Manoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Sheirgill, Divya Dutta, Anupam Kher and Vishwa Bhanu. The movie is inspired from 1987 Opera House heist. Friday Filmworks was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kumar Mangat Pathak, Shital Bhatia and Kumar Mangat. The movie is written and directed by Neeraj Pandey. Viacom 18 Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Special 26 was released on 7th February 2013 and takes a screen time of 144 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Special 26 was made on a budget of ₹50 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹65 crore. Cinematography was done by Bobby Singh and editing by Shree Narayan Singh. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Himesh Reshammiya along with M. M. Kreem and Surinder Sodhi.
