Iron Monkey

The film follows the story of a masked martial artist named Iron Monkey, who operates at night to rob the rich and help the poor, while a physician and martial artist named Wong Kei-ying and his son Wong Fei-hung get mistakenly involved and eventually help Iron Monkey defeat the governor and rescue Wong Fei-hung. Iron Monkey is a 1993 Cantonese-language Action Crime motion picture featuring Donnie Yen, Yu Rongguang, Jean Wang, Angie Tsang, Yuen Shun-yi, Rongguang Yu and Tony Yuen. Golden Harvest in association with Long Shong Pictures, Paragon Films and Film Workshop. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tsui Hark and Quentin Tarantino. Iron Monkey is written by Tsui Hark, Cheung Tan, Tang Elsa and Lau Tai-mok and it is directed by Yuen Woo-ping. Golden Harvest acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Iron Monkey was released on 3rd September 1993 and takes a screen time of 90 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Iron Monkey was made on a budget of $11 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $14 million. Cinematography was done by Arthur Wong and Tam Chi-wai and editing by Marco Mak, Angie Lam and Andy Chan. The music was composed by Richard Yuen along with James L. Venable, Johnny Yeung, William Hu and Chow Gam-wing.
