A Chinese Odyssey

A former disciple betrays his master, but is given a chance at redemption when demons threaten to capture their master, leading to a series of events that involve love, sacrifices, time travel, and ultimately the embrace of fate and continuation of their journey. Chinese Odyssey (Part I), A is a 1995 Cantonese-language Action Adventure film featuring Stephen Chow, Athena Chu, Ng Man-tat, Yammie Lam, Karen Mok, Law Kar-ying and Li Po Lung. The movie is inspired from Journey to the West by Wu Cheng en. Xi an Film Studio in association with Choi Sing Film Company. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Yeung Kwok-fai. The movie is directed by Jeffrey Lau. San Bo acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Chinese Odyssey (Part I), A was released on 21st January 1995 and takes a screen time of Part 1-87 minutes,Part 2-95 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $220 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Jeffrey Lau. Cinematography was done by Poon Hang-sang, Ray Wong and William Yim and editing by Hai Kit-wai. The music was composed by Zhao Jiping along with Lowell Lo.
