A man named Steelhead illegally enters Japan from China to find his fiancée, but becomes involved in the Japanese underworld and a gang war, ultimately sacrificing himself to pay a debt. Shinjuku Incident is a 2009 Mandarin-language Action Crime motion picture starring Jackie Chan, Naoto Takenaka, Daniel Wu, Xu Jinglei, Fan Bingbing, Jinglei Xu and Alan Ng. Tiger Aspect Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Solon So and Willie Chan. Shinjuku Incident is written by Tung-shing Yee, Tin Nam Chun, Derek Yee and Chun Tin-nam and it is directed by Tung-shing Yee and Derek Yee. JCE Movies Limited acquired the distribution rights for the film. Shinjuku Incident was released on 2nd April 2009 and takes a screen time of 119 minutes. Shinjuku Incident was made on a budget of $250 million and at the box office it grossed only $5 million. Cinematography was done by Kita Nobayasu and editing by Kong Chi-leung and Cheung Ka-fai. The music was composed by Peter Kam.

But Steelhead, being heroic, cant help himself; hes just too darned nice not to provoke a crime wave for the betterment of his people, even when it risks the sword wielding fury of the Japanese mafia.Yees movie heaps on the cliches from the mob and molls oeuvre we find all the stifled love and nauseating violence but its undone by dim lighting, poor exposition and bewildering edits.
