The story revolves around three interconnected narratives involving Conquistador Tomás Verdes quest, a man named Tom tending to a tree in a biosphere in space, and surgeon Tommy Creos desperate search for a cure for his wife Izzis brain tumor, ultimately leading to themes of acceptance and the cycle of life and death. The Fountain is a 2006 American English-language Drama Sci-Fi motion picture featuring Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz, Ellen Burstyn, Mark Margolis, Stephen Mchattie, Fernando Hernandez and Octavio Guadelupe Zabala Xitamul. The Fountain was Produced by Arnon Milchan, Eric Watson and Iain Smith. The Fountain is written by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel and it is directed by Darren Aronofsky. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Fountain was released on 22nd February 2007 and takes a screen time of 93 minutes. The Fountain was made on a budget of $35 million and at the box office it grossed only $16 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Darren Aronofsky. Cinematography was done by Matthew Libatique and editing by Jay Rabinowitz. The music was composed by Clint Mansell.

      The result is a morbid mess.The reason it isnt quite a turkey is that three fine actors Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz (whos married to Aronofsky and has never been filmed more lovingly) and Ellen Burstyn give it their all, so the piece has a rawness and acting power that offset Aronofskys absurd attempt to be Andrei Tarkovsky, David Lean and Stanley Kubrick all at the same time.
