Professor Challenger discovers living extinct animals on an expedition to the Amazon Basin and challenges the London Zoological Society to sponsor a second expedition, which encounters dangerous obstacles including battling dinosaurs, primitive jungle girl, giant spider, cannibals, and a Tyrannosaurus rex egg that hatches on arrival back in London. The Lost World is a 1960 American English-language Adventure Fantasy movie starring Michael Rennie, Jill St. John, David Hedison, Claude Rains, Fernando Lamas, Jill St John and Ben Wright. The movie is inspired from The Lost World 1912 novel by Arthur Conan Doyle. The Lost World was Produced by Irwin Allen and Cliff Reid. The movie is directed by Irwin Allen. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Lost World was released on 13th July 1960 and takes a screen time of 97 minutes. The Lost World was made on a budget of $1 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Irwin Allen and Charles Bennett.
