In early-1953 Moscow, under the Great Terror's heavy cloak of state paranoia, the ever-watchful Soviet leader, Joseph Stalin, collapses unexpectedly of a brain hemorrhage. Inevitably, when his body is discovered the following morning, a frenetic surge of raw panic spreads like a virus among the senior members of the Council of Ministers as they scramble to maintain order, weed out the competition, and, ultimately, take power. But in the middle of a gut-wrenching roller-coaster of incessant plotting, tireless machinations, and frail allegiances, absolutely no one is safe; not even the feared chief of the secret police, Lavrenti Beria. In the end, who will prevail after the death of Stalin? Written by Nick Riganas The Death of Stalin is a 2017 English-language Comedy Drama film featuring Steve Buscemi, Simon Russell Beale, Paddy Considine, Rupert Friend, Jason Isaacs, Olga Kurylenko and Ryan Paul Mccarthy. The movie is based on La Mort de Staline by Fabien Nury Thierry Robin. Gaumont in association with Quad Productions, Main Journey, France 3 Cinema, La Cie Cin matographique, Panache Productions, AFPI, Canal+, Cin +, France T l visions and Title Media. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Laurent Zeitoun, Nicolas Duval Adassovsky, Kevin Loader and Yann Zenou. The Death of Stalin is written by David Schneider and Armando Iannucci and it is directed by Armando Iannucci. Entertainment One Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Death of Stalin was released on 20th October 2017 and takes a screen time of 107 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. The Death of Stalin was made on a budget of $13 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $24 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Armando Iannucci, David Schneider and Ian Martin. Cinematography was done by Zac Nicholson and editing by Peter Lambert. The music was composed by Chris Willis.
