An interesting biographical crime drama BlacKKKlansman is about the first black police officer from Colorado Springs police department. He is assigned to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch and for that, he takes the help of a Jewish colleague. What happens next forms the crux of the story. The film stars John David Washington in the lead role along with Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, and Topher Grace in supporting roles. The screenplay was written by Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Kevin Willmott, and Spike Lee and directed by Spike Lee. It was produced by Jason Blum, Spike Lee, Raymond Mansfield, Sean McKittrick, Jordan Peele, and Shaun Redick for Blumhouse Productions, Monkeypaw Productions, QC Entertainment, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, Legendary Entertainment, and Perfect World Pictures. The music was composed by Terence Blanchard. Adept cinematography by Chayse Irvin and clear cut editing by Barry Alexander Brown makes it a watchable movie. The film was released on August 10, 2018, and occupies a screentime of 135 minutes. An R certificate for the movie was provided by the MPAA. The film was based on the 2014 memoir Black Klansman by Ron Stallworth. The film premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival on May 14 and director Spike Lee received a six-minute standing ovation.
