In the 14th century, Robert Bruce, a Scottish nobleman, marries the goddaughter of King Edward I of England but later regrets his allegiance and leads a revolt with rebel William Wallace, facing personal losses and challenges before eventually emerging victorious and uniting the crowns of England and Scotland.
