In 1953, Joseph Stalins request for a recording of a live performance leads to a series of events including the refilling of the empty auditorium, the rearrangement of musicians, the rewriting of notes, and the eventual death of Stalin, after which a power struggle ensues and Khrushchev eventually emerges as the new leader. The Death of Stalin is a 2017 English-language Comedy Drama motion picture starring Steve Buscemi, Simon Russell Beale, Paddy Considine, Rupert Friend, Jason Isaacs, Michael Palin and Julia Mulligan. The movie is based on La Mort de Staline by Fabien Nury & Thierry Robin. Gaumont in association with Quad Productions, Main Journey, France 3 Cinema, La Cie Cin matographique, Panache Productions, AFPI, Canal+, Cin +, France T l visions and Title Media. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Laurent Zeitoun, Nicolas Duval Adassovsky, Kevin Loader and Yann Zenou. The Death of Stalin is written by David Schneiderman, Armando Iannucci, David Schneider, Ian Martin and Peter Fellows and it is directed by Armando Iannucci. Entertainment One Films acquired the distribution rights for the film.
