In 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels investigates the disappearance of a patient at Ashecliffe Hospital, but discovers that the staff and his partner are deceiving him as part of an elaborate plan to reveal his true identity as a man who killed his family and have him undergo a lobotomy. Shutter Island is a 2010 American English-language Mystery Thriller movie featuring Leonardo Dicaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson and Angela Palmer-haibach. The movie is based on Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. Phoenix Pictures in association with Sikelia Productions and Appian Way Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bradley Fisher, Martin Scorsese, Mike Medavoy, Arnold W. Messer and Bradley J. Fischer. Shutter Island is written by Laeta Kalogridis and Dennis Lehane and it is directed by Martin Scorsese. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Shutter Island was released on 4th June 2010 and takes a screen time of 139 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Shutter Island was made on a budget of $80 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $294 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Laeta Kalogridis. Cinematography was done by Robert Richardson and editing by Thelma Schoonmaker. The music was composed by Richard Rodgers.
