During WWII, an American agent in Shanghai investigates the murder of his friend, befriends a crime lord and a Japanese captain, passes messages to the Chinese Resistance, and ultimately helps the crime lords wife escape the city after the Japanese captain admits to his friends murder. Shanghai is a 2010 English-language Crime Drama movie starring John Cusack, Gong Li, Yun-fat Chow, David Morse, Ken Watanabe, Franka Potente and Simon John Wilson. Shanghai was released on 1st July 2010. Shanghai was made on a budget of $50 million and at the box office it grossed only $15 million.
