Crime Drama Mystery Thriller Action Documentary Short
In Salamanca, Spain, during a terrorism conference, an assassination attempt on the US President unfolds from the perspectives of various individuals, including a GNN producer, a Secret Service agent, a Spanish police officer, and an American tourist, leading to the uncovering of a plot involving a body double and the eventual rescue of the President. Vantage Point is a 2008 American English-language Crime Drama movie starring Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, Forest Whitaker, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, Dgar Ram Rez and Ashton Lloyd. Columbia Pictures in association with Relativity Media and Original Film. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Neal H. Moritz. Vantage Point is written by Barry L. Levy and directed by Pete Travis. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Vantage Point was released on 2nd March 2008 and takes a screen time of 90 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Vantage Point was made on a budget of $40 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $152 million. Cinematography was done by Amir Mokri and editing by Stuart Baird. The music was composed by Atli Rvarsson.

If you can work your way past Vantage Points goofy casting that places a bland, blank eyed Hurt in the White House, then I suppose you can manage to forgive this Rashomon rip offs other glaring idiosyncrasies, of which there are many. ( Read More )

If you strip away the gimmick, you discover you have at best thirty minutes of actual story, none of it remotely good.With the gimmick, then, you get a thin story stretched beyond its capacity, with tiresome plot twists and ridiculous character actions filling the space where smart storytelling should go.
