An interesting comical drama Queen features Kangana Ranaut, Rajkumaar Rao, and Lisa Hayden. This 2014 Hindi film was written by Vikas Bahl, Chaitally Parmar, and Parveez Shaikh and directed by Vikas Bahl. When Rani a shy Punjabi girl is deserted by her fiance just before the wedding she decides to go on a solo honeymoon where she comes out of her comfort zone and rediscovers herself. The film was loosely based on Alice in Wonderland. It was produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena. It was tastefully captured by Bobby Singh and Siddharth Diwan and edited by Abhijit Kokate and Anurag Kashyap. Amit Trivedi composed the music. It was released on 7 March 2014 and has a running time of 146 minutes. The movie was made on a budget of ₹ 18.75 crores and it grossed ₹ 180 crores at the box office. The distribution rights were acquired by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. At the 2015 Filmfare Awards, it received 5 awards including Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Background Score, Best Feature Film in Hindi and Best Actress (Kangana Ranaut). A UA certificate for the movie was provided by the Censor Board.
