Barfi, a troublemaker in 1972, falls in love with Shruti but faces various challenges such as his fathers illness, kidnapping his autistic friend Jhilmil, reuniting with Shruti who is married, being framed for Jhilmils murder, and ultimately passing away with Jhilmil in 2012. Barfi! is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language Adventure Comedy movie featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D cruz, Saurabh Shukla, Rupa Ganguly, Ashish Vidyarthi and Deependra Singh. Ishana Movies in association with UTV Motion Pictures. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Anurag Basu, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Barfi! is written by Anurag Basu, Tani Basu, Sanjeev Dutta and Sanjeev Datta and it is directed by Anurag Basu. UTV Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Barfi! was released on 14th September 2012 and takes a screen time of 150 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Barfi! was made on a budget of ₹50 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹105 crore. Cinematography was done by Ravi Varman and editing by Akiv Ali. The music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty. At the 2013 IIFA Awards It won 3 awards including: Best Actor in a Leading Role (Ranbir Kapoor), Best Picture and Best Director. At the 2013 IIFA Awards It also won 2 awards including: IIFA BIG 20 Award for Best Actor (Ranbir Kapoor) and Best Trendsetter of the Year.
