In the 1950s, a determined filmmaker named Ed Wood faces numerous obstacles in the film industry, receives support from his girlfriend and becomes friends with an actor, Bela Lugosi, leading to opportunities to direct films, but he struggles with critical and commercial failure, financial difficulties, mistaken identity, the loss of a star, and various challenges during production before finally completing a sci-fi film and marrying his girlfriend. Ed Wood is a 1994 American English-language Biography Comedy movie starring Johnny Depp, Martin Landau, Sarah Jessica Parker, Patricia Arquette, Jeffrey Jones, Bill Murray and Patrick Cranshaw. The movie is inspired from Nightmare of Ecstasy: The Life and Art of Edward D. Wood Jr. by Rudolph Grey. Touchstone Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Denise Di Novi and Tim Burton. Ed Wood is written by Rudolph Grey, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski and it is directed by Tim Burton. Buena Vista Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie.
