The Insider was released on 16th March 2000 and takes a screen time of 158 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The Insider was made on a budget of $90 million and at the box office it grossed only $60 million. Cinematography was done by Dante Spinotti and editing by William Goldenberg, Paul Rubell and David Rosenbloom. The music was composed by Lisa Gerrard along with Pieter Bourke.
