A group of superheroes, including Iron Man and the Hulk, are assembled to stop an extraterrestrial invasion led by Loki, in exchange for a powerful energy source. The Avengers is a 2012 American English-language Action Sci-Fi motion picture starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Mako San. The movie is inspired from Avengers by Stan Lee Jack Kirby. Marvel Studios was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Kevin Feige. The Avengers is written by Joss Whedon and Zak Penn and it is directed by Joss Whedon. Walt Disney Studios acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Avengers was released on 1st May 2012 and takes a screen time of 143 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The Avengers was made on a budget of $60 million and at the box office it grossed only $23 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Joss Whedon. Cinematography was done by Seamus McGarvey and editing by Jeffrey Ford and Lisa Lassek. The music was composed by Alan Silvestri.
