A television weatherman named Phil Connors becomes trapped in a time loop on Groundhog Day, leading to initially reckless behavior, depression, multiple suicide attempts, but eventually he uses his knowledge to better himself and the town, eventually breaking free from the loop and choosing to be with the woman he loves.
