In 1880s Paris, a impoverished former soldier named Georges Duroy improves his social and financial standing by taking advantage of his old friends connections and using his charm to seduce wealthy women. Bel Ami is a 2012 American English-language Drama History film featuring Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Christina Ricci, Colm Meaney, Anthony Higgins and Charlotte Habib. The movie is inspired from Bel Ami by Guy de Maupassant. Redwave Films in association with XIX Entertainment, Protagonist Pictures and Rai Cinema. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Uberto Pasolini. Bel Ami is written by Guy De Maupassant and Rachel Bennette and it is directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod. Optimum Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Bel Ami was released on 29th March 2012 and takes a screen time of 92 minutes. Bel Ami was made on a budget of €9 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $9 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Rachel Bennette. Cinematography was done by Stefano Falivene and editing by Gavin Buckley and Masahiro Hirakubo. The music was composed by Lakshman Joseph De Saram along with Rachel Portman.
