The movie has a running time of 155 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Ragtime was made on a budget of $28 million and at the box office it grossed only $14 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Michael Weller and Bo Goldman. Cinematography was done by Miroslav Ond ek and editing by Anne V. Coates, Antony Gibbs and Stanley Warnow. The music was composed by Randy Newman.
