Wounded while stopping the James gang from robbing the local bank, a cowboy wakes up in the hospital to find that he s been elected town marshal. He soon comes into conflict with the town banker, who controls everything in town and is squeezing the townspeople for every penny he can get out of them. Harry Sherman Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Lewis J. Rachmil and Harry Sherman. The Kansan is written by Frank Gruber and Harold Shumate and it is directed by George Archainbaud. United Artists acquired the distribution rights for the movie. The Kansan was released on 10th September 1943 and takes a screen time of 79 minutes. Cinematography was done by Russell Harlan and editing by Carroll Lewis. The music was composed by Gerard Carbonara.
