A bandit kidnaps a Marshal who has n a map showing a gold vein on Indian lands, but other groups are looking for it too, while the Apache try to keep the secret location undisturbed. Mackennas Gold is a 1969 American English-language Action Adventure film featuring Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif, Telly Savalas, Camilla Sparv, Keenan Wynn, Julie Newmar and Martin Abrahams. The movie is based on Mackenna s Gold 1963 novel by Will Henry. Highroad Productions in association with Inc. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Carl Foreman and Dimitri Tiomkin. Mackennas Gold is written by Heck Allen and Carl Foreman and it is directed by J. Lee Thompson. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Mackennas Gold was released on 18th March 1969 and takes a screen time of 128 minutes. Mackennas Gold was made on a budget of ₹70 lakh. The screenplay for the movie was written by Carl Foreman. Cinematography was done by Joseph MacDonald and editing by Bill Lenny. The music was composed by Quincy Jones.
