In 1968, a young criminal named William ONeal is arrested by the FBI and given the opportunity to drop charges if he becomes an undercover informant, leading him to infiltrate the Black Panther Party and gather information on its leader Fred Hampton, ultimately resulting in Hamptons tragic assassination and shedding light on the governments troubling interference in the civil rights movement. Judas and the Black Messiah is a 2021 American English-language Biography Drama film starring Daniel Kaluuya, Lakeith Stanfield, Jesse Plemons, Dominique Fishback, Ashton Sanders, Martin Sheen and Ricarda Sarkar. Judas and the Black Messiah was Produced by Ryan Coogler, Charles D. King and Shaka King. The movie is directed by Shaka King. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Judas and the Black Messiah was released on 5th March 2021 and takes a screen time of 126 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Judas and the Black Messiah was made on a budget of $26 million and at the box office it grossed only $7 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Will Berson and Shaka King. Cinematography was done by Sean Bobbitt and editing by Kristan Sprague. The music was composed by Mark Isham along with Craig Harris. At the 2021 Oscar Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Daniel Kaluuya) and Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song).
