An interesting crime drama The Sisters Brothers revolves around Eli and Charlie two gunfighters who are hired by Commodore, a wealthy businessman to kill Hermann Warm. To assist them in their job a private detective is also hired. The events that follow form the crux of the story.The film stars John C. Reilly, Joaquin Phoenix, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Riz Ahmed. The filming took place in France, Romania, and Spain. The screenplay was written by Jacques Audiard and Thomas Bidegain and it was directed by Jacques Audiard. The film was produced by Pascal Caucheteux, Gregoire Sorlat, Michel Merkt, Michael De Luca, Allison Dickey, and John C. Reilly for Why Not Productions, Annapurna Pictures, and Page 114 Productions and was distributed by Annapurna Pictures. Interestingly at the 2018 Venice International Film Festival, the film earned a standing ovation but unfortunately was a failure at the box office. The music was composed by Alexandre Desplat. Adept cinematography by Benoît Debie and clear cut editing by Juliette Welfling makes it a watchable movie. The film was released on 21 September 2018 and occupies screentime of 121 minutes. An R certificate for the movie was provided by the MPAA.
