A young woman named Emily fakes her own abduction to get attention from her wealthy and morally questionable father, but her plan goes awry when a car thief unknowingly steals the vehicle she is bound and trapped inside. Excess Baggage is a 1997 American English-language Action Comedy film featuring Alicia Silverstone, Benicio Del Toro, Christopher Walken, Jack Thompson, Nicholas Turturro, Harry Connick Jr. and April Telek. First Kiss was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Bill Borden, Carolyn Kessler and Alicia Silverstone. Excess Baggage is written by Max D. Adams, Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais and it is directed by Marco Brambilla. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Excess Baggage was released on 4th December 1997 and takes a screen time of 98 minutes. Excess Baggage was made on a budget of $20 million and at the box office it grossed only $14 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Max D. Adams, Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. Cinematography was done by Jean-Yves Escoffier and editing by Stephen Rivkin. The music was composed by John Lurie.
