Columbia Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Steve Nicolaides. The motion picture is written and directed by John Singleton. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Boyz n the Hood was released on 12th July 1991 and takes a screen time of 112 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office.
