After Southern belle Elizabeth Lloyd runs off to marry Yankee Jack Sherman, her father, a former Confederate colonel during the Civil War, vows to never speak to her again. Several years pass and Elizabeth returns to her home town with her husband and young daughter. The little girl charms her crusty grandfather and tries to patch things up between him and her mother. Written by Daniel Bubbeo The Little Colonel is a 1935 American English-language Comedy Family motion picture starring Shirley Temple, Lionel Barrymore, Evelyn Venable, John Lodge, Bill Robinson, Hattie Mcdaniel and Cece Swanson. Fox Film was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Buddy G. Desylva. The Little Colonel is written by Screenplay:, William M. Conselman, Novel: and Annie Fellows Johnston and it is directed by David Butler. Fox Film acquired the distribution rights for the movie.
