The Good German

While in post-war Berlin to cover the Potsdam Conference, an American military journalist is drawn into a murder investigation which involves his former mistress and his driver. The Good German is a 2006 American English-language Drama Mystery film starring George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Tobey Maguire, Beau Bridges, Tony Curran, Leland Orser and Sten Jacobs. The movie is inspired from The Good German by Joseph Kanon. Virtual Studios in association with Section Eight. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ben Cosgrove and Gregory Jacobs. The Good German is written by Paul Attanasio and Joseph Kanon and it is directed by Steven Soderbergh. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. The Good German was released on 19th January 2007 and takes a screen time of 105 minutes. The Good German was made on a budget of $32 million and at the box office it grossed only $5 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Paul Attanasio. Cinematography was done by Steven Soderbergh and editing by Steven Soderbergh. The music was composed by Thomas Newman.
