Reporter Alexander Knox and photojournalist Vicki Vale investigate the masked vigilante Batman in Gotham City, where they uncover a web of deception involving billionaire Bruce Wayne, mob boss Carl Grissom, and a vengeful transformation of Jack Napier into the Joker, leading Batman to ultimately triumph. Batman is a 1989 American English-language Action Adventure movie featuring Jack Nicholson, Michael Keaton, Kim Basinger, Robert Wuhl, Pat Hingle, Billy Dee Williams and Jimmy Star. The movie is inspired from Characters appearing in magazines published by DC Comics Batman by Bob Kane. Warner Bros. Pictures in association with Guber-Peters Company. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jon Peters and Peter Guber. Batman is written by Bob Kane, Sam Hamm and Warren Skaaren and it is directed by Tim Burton. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the film. Batman was released on 21st June 1989 and takes a screen time of 126 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Batman was made on a budget of $35 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $411 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Sam Hamm and Warren Skaaren. Cinematography was done by Roger Pratt and editing by Ray Lovejoy. The music was composed by Danny Elfman. At the 1990 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration.
